What is a Buick Riviera? Well simply put, Buick is the second most expensive brand ( to Cadillac) in the General Motors product line up. As such high end cars like Buick, Cadillac, Lincoln and Chrysler/Imperial were the American equal to Mercedes, Jaguar etc in Europe. Riviera was the flagship model for Buick from . It started as an upmarket trim option for Buicks from 1949, becoming its own flagship model in 1963.
